Approach and anchoring
Reached from the ICW via the Cape Fear River, then the Northeast Cape Fear River north of downtown Wilmington. The basin sits behind the Sawmill Point apartment complex. Currents on the river run strong on the ebb, so plan arrival near slack water.
Practical
Around 37 to 50 berths on composite floating pontoons for boats up to 50 ft LOA. Water, 30 and 50 amp shore power, WiFi. The river shack on site has heads, showers, laundry and a screened lounge. Long-term lease only; no transient berths. Visitors should call Cape Fear Marina, 0.3 nm NE, for overnight stays.
