Approach and anchoring
Reached from inside Moriches Bay, off the channel near Remsenburg. The bay is shallow, with central depths of 3 to 6 feet at low water, so keep to the marked channel and run the approach on a rising tide.
Practical
The club fronts Moriches Bay on a 2.5-acre site at 9 Yacht Club Drive, with a heated clubhouse and dining for members. It runs dinghy racing on the bay and teaches sailing, swimming and tennis. This is a members' club, not a transient harbour, so visitors should contact the club before arriving.
History
The Squadron was founded in 1890 and marked its 125th season in 2015, making it one of the older sailing clubs on the south shore of Long Island.
