Guide
Approach and anchoring
The anchorage lies behind the sandy arm of Napatree Point, which gives shelter in most winds, though the holding ground is open to the E, SE and S. Average depth runs around seven feet at mean low water. The Watch Hill Yacht Club is 0.4 NM SE and maintains the inner harbour moorings; Watch Hill Boat Yard lies 1.2 NM NE.
Practical
Fresh water available ashore. Dinghies may be landed at the Watch Hill town docks or the municipal dock free of charge. The yacht club operates a launch and offers reciprocal privileges on a first-come basis.
Ashore
Napatree Point is a conservation area and barrier beach reaching out from the anchorage, with a walking route to the old Fort Mansfield site at its tip. The Watch Hill village shops and the Flying Horse carousel are a short walk from the town docks.
