Approach and anchoring
Approach on the Saône around PK 26 upstream of Lyon. Current usually 1 to 2 kn, stronger in winter. Minimum depth 2 m at the pontoon. The former Port Bernalin lock lies 2.4 NM SE.
Practical
Five berths on a floating pontoon, max draught 2 m. Water and electricity on the quay. Town centre at 400 m with bakery, small supermarket and restaurants.
Ashore
Parliament building of the Dombes from 1696 in the upper town, 600 m from the port. Ruins of the medieval château on the hill with view over the Saône valley. Sunday morning market on Place de la Terrasse.
History
Trévoux was capital of the sovereign principality of Dombes until 1762, with its own parliament, mint and printing works. The Jesuits published the Dictionnaire de Trévoux here from 1704.
