- Harbour
Marina in downtown Tahoe City on the north-west shore of Lake Tahoe, California, at 1 900 metres of altitude.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Open lake approach on the north-west shore. The marina handles boats from 18 to 50 feet. As a high-altitude alpine lake, Tahoe has no tide; afternoon winds can build a short steep chop across open water.
Practical
One of the oldest marinas on the lake, built in the 1940s and expanded around 2012 with added berths, a new fuel berth and a public pier. There are 48 moorings, slip and buoy rentals, boat hire, a fuel berth with petrol and diesel, forklift and travel-lift launching, repair and indoor winter storage. Shops and restaurants are in the town centre alongside the marina.
