Approach and anchoring
Buckley Cove opens directly into the navigable channels of the San Joaquin Delta, one of the largest inland estuaries in North America. The deep-water Stockton ship channel runs close by.
Practical
About 350 berths for boats up to 36 ft, with water and shore power on all pontoons. Dry storage for around 50 boats. Gated harbour with round-the-clock security. Youth and adult sailing courses run through the season.
History
The club was founded in 1933 by three Stockton High School alumni and moved to its present Buckley Cove site in 1966.
Story
The club hosts the Delta Ditch Run, a downwind race from Richmond up the Delta to Stockton held each year in early summer.
