Inland lake navigation on the Grangent dam reservoir. Rock bottom, holding variable, check set. Shelter limited to N winds only, the lake is exposed in most other sectors.
Practical
Base nautique de Saint-Victor-sur-Loire 0.5 NM NE with pontoons, water and slipway. No fuel on the lake. Village of Saint-Victor perched above the shore with shops and restaurants.
Ashore
Grangent reservoir is bordered by the Loire gorges with the ruined Château de Grangent on an islet and the medieval Château d'Essalois on the east bank. Footpaths run along both shores. Sailing and windsurfing school at the base nautique.
