Approach and anchoring
On the summit pound of the Canal du Centre. Freycinet gauge, air draught 3.50 m, lock chambers 38.5 m by 5.05 m. Remote-controlled locks using a télécommande issued by VNF. No tide, steady current.
Practical
Capitainerie with water, electricity on the quay, showers and toilets. Fuel station on site for boats. Bakery, butcher, pharmacy and a small supermarket within 300 m of the halt. Railway station on the Nevers to Chagny line a few minutes walk away.
Ashore
Voie verte from Chagny to Nevers runs along the canal, well suited for cycling. Marchés in the village square on Saturday morning. Côte chalonnaise vineyards within a few kilometres, with Rully and Mercurey AOC domaines to the east.
