Approach and anchoring
River navigation, no tide. Strong south-flowing current, 3 to 5 knots on the Rhône after rainfall. Mud bottom, good holding. Anchor clear of the navigation channel used by commercial barges. VHF 10 for VNF lock traffic up and down the river.
Practical
No services on the anchorage. Halte fluviale de Roquemaure on the right bank with water and a few pontoon berths. Shops, bakery and restaurants in the village 500 m east.
Ashore
Town walls and the ruins of the Château de l'Hers on the cliff above the village. Collégiale Saint-Jean-Baptiste holds relics of Saint Valentin, brought to Roquemaure in 1868, origin of the annual Fête des Amoureux in February. Côtes du Rhône and Lirac AOC vineyards from the village out to Tavel 5 km west.
