Approach and anchoring
On the navigable Rhône, PK 234 area. Mud bottom, sheltered from all wind directions by the river banks. Watch the downstream current, stronger after spring melt and autumn rains. Roquemaure town wall 4.8 NM south-east, Saint-Étienne-des-Sorts 5 NM north.
Practical
No dedicated services at the mooring. Basic stops with pontoons at Roquemaure and Saint-Étienne-des-Sorts.
Ashore
The right bank faces the Côtes du Rhône vineyards of Lirac AOC and Tavel AOC, the latter producing only rosé since the appellation was created in 1936. Châteauneuf-du-Pape village and its ruined castle lie 6 km east across the river. Roquemaure holds the tomb of Saint Valentine's relics brought from Rome in 1868.
