Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the east between the Cerbicale group and the mainland. The bay is part of the Natura 2000 zone covering the Cerbicale islands and the south-east Corsica coast, managed moorings on buoys, anchoring discouraged over posidonia. Bottom is sand with patches of rock and weed. Shelter from N, NE and NW. Fully exposed to E and SE, so leave if a Levant is forecast.

Practical

Buoys for the night, no services on site. Sand beach of San Ciprianu at the head of the bay. Marina di Fiori and Cala Rossa resort are 2.7 NM west, Quilichi 3.1 NM west. Porto-Vecchio marina lies deeper inside the gulf for full facilities.

Ashore

Plage de San Ciprianu is a 1.2 km sand arc at the head of the bay, with a beach bar and shallow water suited to children. The Sentier du littoral links it to the pointe San Ciprianu and to the Baie de Cala Rossa. The Cerbicale nature reserve, closed to landing, lies 1.5 NM offshore.
