Guide

Approach and anchoring

Vilaine navigation, no tide. Operated under VNF rules. Écluse Gailieu 6.6 NM NE and Port de Beslé 7.8 NM south mark the closest lock passages. Low water in summer can reduce draught on the river.

Practical

166 berths on pontoons, with fuel station on site. Shops, restaurants and a supermarket within a short walk on either bank at Guipry and Messac. Train station on the Rennes to Redon line at Messac-Guipry, 500 m from the port.

Ashore

Musée de la Batellerie de l'Ouest tells the story of Vilaine river trade in former warehouses on the quays. Towpath along the Vilaine, on the véloroute V3 Saint-Malo to Arzal. Saturday morning market in Guipry centre.
