Approach and anchoring
Access by the Canal de Roanne à Digoin, reached from the Loire lateral canal via the junction at Digoin. Standard Freycinet gauge applies: boats up to 38.5 m length, 5.05 m beam and 1.80 m draught. No tidal constraints on the canal.
Practical
Small visitor basin with water and electricity on the quay. Bread and basic shopping in Melay village within walking distance. Chambilly port lies 3.5 nautical miles north, Briennon 5.1 nautical miles south-east, both useful for bunkering or longer layovers.
Ashore
Towpath walk along the canal in both directions. Voie verte cycle route on the former railway follows the canal between Digoin and Roanne, passing the port. Brionnais Romanesque churches including Semur-en-Brionnais within 10 km by road.
