Approach and anchoring
Access via the Moselle canalised. Tirant d'eau 2,2 m max. VNF lock schedule applies, call the ecluse de Pont-a-Mousson on VHF. No tidal constraint.
Practical
100 berths, water and electricity on the pontoons. Town centre with bakery, supermarket and restaurants within 500 m.
Ashore
Abbaye des Premontres on the right bank, an 18th century monastic complex now used as a cultural centre, 400 m from the port. Place Duroc with its arcaded Renaissance houses and the Maison des Sept Peches Capitaux, 600 m away. Church of Saint-Martin with its 15th century Entombment.
History
Pont-a-Mousson hosted the university of Lorraine from 1572 until its transfer to Nancy in 1768. The Premonstratensian abbey was built between 1705 and 1735 by the architect Nicolas Pierson.
