Approach and anchoring
Enter the Gulf of Saint-Florent and steer west-north-west towards Punta di Curza. The small cove lies east of the main Lotu beach. Drop the hook on sand in 3 to 6 metres, keeping clear of the posidonia beds which are protected. Shelter from SW, S and SE. Exposed to the tramontane from the north.
Ashore
The Lotu and Saleccia beaches are reached from Saint-Florent by shuttle boat and by the 12 km Sentier des Douaniers walking track. Both beaches sit inside the Conservatoire du Littoral's Agriates land holdings. No shops, no road access for cars. Saleccia is about 5 km west on the coast path.
History
The wider Lotu and Saleccia coast was used as the filming location for the D-Day landing scenes of the 1962 film The Longest Day, shot in Corsica because Normandy had been rebuilt too densely by then.
