Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south or south-east into Santa Monica Bay. The cove is open to the south-west, so any swell rolls straight in. Thick kelp lies across parts of the bottom, so pick a clear patch of sand and check the anchor is well set. Marina del Rey lies about 16 miles to the east for shelter.
Ashore
A private beach with a restaurant on the sand, a bar and beach rentals sits at the head of the cove, reached by tender. The pier dates from 1945 and was cut back to its inshore section by the storms of 1983.
Story
Snorkelling and diving are permitted in the clear water of the cove, but fishing is not.
