Approach and anchoring
Approach from Lake Ontario through the breakwatered entrance of Eighteenmile Creek, marked by the replica Olcott pierhead lighthouse on the west pier. The harbour is the deepest on the lake west of Rochester. Berths sit at the south end of the property.
Practical
Four club berths plus four transient berths, alongside fixed pontoons. Largest vessel accepted 45 ft, depths suitable for up to 7 ft draught at normal lake levels. 30 A shore power, free fresh water, free WiFi, pump-out, heads and showers. Full-service restaurant on site.
Ashore
Krull Park along the lakeshore at 400 m, with two playgrounds, walking trails and the sandy public beach. Olcott Beach Carousel Park with the 1938 Herschell-Spillman carousel sits 500 m east on Main Street. Lakeview Village Shoppes for provisioning at 350 m.
History
The club was founded in 1920 and rebuilt its clubhouse after the 2017 and 2019 Lake Ontario floods to sit above the new flood line. The harbour itself was developed from 1867 onwards after Congress funded two parallel piers reaching the eleven-foot contour.
