Approach and anchoring

Access by the Canal latéral à la Garonne, which is part of the Canal des Deux Mers route between Bordeaux and Toulouse. The canal allows a maximum draught of 1.80 m and an air draught of 3.50 m under standard bridges. No tidal constraints. Speed limit 8 km/h.

Around 20 berths along the quay. Water and electricity on the pontoon. Sanitary facilities. Supermarkets, bakeries and all town shops within 500 m in central Agen.

Ashore

Pont-canal d'Agen over the Garonne at 1 km west of the halt, a 539 m masonry aqueduct opened in 1843. Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Agen at 600 m, housed in four Renaissance mansions. Cathédrale Saint-Caprais at 700 m, a Romanesque building listed as UNESCO World Heritage on the Santiago de Compostela routes.
