Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east in clear conditions. The bottom is mostly posidonia so look for sand patches before dropping the anchor. Shelter from SW and W winds behind the cape; fully open to the east and the libeccio swell wrapping round. Keep clear of the port entrance fairway 0.3 nm to the north.
Practical
No services at anchor. Macinaggio marina lies 0.3 nm north with fuel, water, chandlery and a capitainerie on VHF 9. Village shops, bakery and restaurants are reached on foot from the port.
Ashore
Sentier des Douaniers coast path starts at Macinaggio and runs north along the Cap Corse tip past the Genoese towers of Santa Maria and Agnello to Barcaggio, about 10 km one way. Iles Finocchiarola nature reserve sits 1 nm offshore, landing restricted in seabird nesting season.
