Approach and anchoring
Lies just off the Intracoastal Waterway where it meets the St Johns River near Mayport. Sand bottom. Sheltered from NW through NE and from the W and E; open to the south. The Sister Creek bascule bridge to the north has a closed clearance of 24 feet and opens on request.
Practical
A free anchorage with no facilities ashore. Clapboard Creek Marina is about 0.6 mile to the N, and Sister Creek public docks lie roughly 2.6 miles to the E for those needing services or a berth.
