Approach and anchoring
Two boat ramps and a kayak launch at 27551 South Tamiami Trail. Open 7am to dusk. Around 40 minutes downriver to the Gulf, mostly idle speed, no-wake zone.
Practical
Self-pay parking on an honour system. Trailer parking, toilets, fishing pier and a short boardwalk. No fuel or chandlery at the ramp itself.
Ashore
Town centre of Bonita Springs at 800 metres for shops and restaurants. Downstream the river runs through mangrove banks before opening onto Estero Bay and the Gulf beaches at Big Hickory Island and Lovers Key.
