Approach and anchoring
Protected deep-water harbour off Galveston Bay. Berths are reserved for members and visiting boaters from reciprocal clubs, with a 400-foot guest dock. Contact the office on 281 471-1255 to confirm reciprocal privileges.
Practical
Around 185 berths from 35 to 60 feet across floating and fixed docks, plus 27 covered sheds for yachts up to 70 feet. In-harbour fuel berth with petrol and diesel, pump-out station, pool and waterfront facilities.
History
The oldest yacht club in Texas, founded in 1897 and chartered in 1898. Members moved from Buffalo Bayou to Galveston Bay after the First World War and opened the present Spanish-style clubhouse at Shoreacres in July 1927, now a recognised historic landmark.
