Approach and anchoring
Hopedale gives onto the marsh and a short run to the MRGO and the rock dam that closed the channel after Hurricane Katrina. The marina has a floating kayak launch for quick launch and recovery.
Practical
Live bait, mostly white and brown shrimp, sometimes croakers, cocahoes and storm minnows. Boat sheds and cabins for rent, an RV campground, and a kayak base. The surrounding marsh holds speckled trout, redfish, flounder, croaker, white trout and largemouth bass.
