Approach and anchoring
Shell Beach lies in St Bernard Parish, south-east of New Orleans. The marina sits at the head of Bayou Yscloskey, with the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet and Lake Borgne a short run out. From the dock, anglers reach the ponds and cuts of the Biloxi Marsh, the main ground for speckled trout and redfish.
Practical
Boat launch, fuel, ice and live bait, including live shrimp. Staff will pump fuel and pass oil, ice and bait to your boat from the dock. Truck parking by the launch. Reckoned one of the oldest bait stands in the country, run by the Campo family for several generations.
