Approach and anchoring
Accessible only by canal boat from the Canal entre Champagne et Bourgogne. Standard Freycinet gauge applies: maximum draught 1.80 m, air draught 3.50 m, length 38.50 m. Lock operations handled by VNF.
Practical
Short quay for a handful of boats, mainly rental units from nearby Locaboat and Le Boat bases. Water point at the quay. No fuel on site. Bread and small shop in Humes village.
Ashore
Centre of Langres at 4 km by road, a fortified town on a limestone spur with a ring of Gallo-Roman and medieval ramparts around 3.5 km long, Saint-Mammes cathedral and the Denis Diderot museum in the philosopher's birth town. Lake Liez at 7 km for swimming.
