Approach and anchoring

Reached by the Seine from Paris or by the Oise from the north. Mud bottom. Full shelter on all sectors once moored along the quay. Commercial barge traffic is heavy; moor clear of the navigation channel.

Practical

River halt along the quay of Conflans, town centre 0.4 nm E. Relais nautique Saint-Exupéry 1.6 nm SW for an alternative stop. Shops and SNCF station within walking distance.

Ashore

Conflans-Sainte-Honorine is known as the capital of French inland waterways. Musée de la Batellerie on the heights above the quay, church of Saint-Maclou from the twelfth century, and the annual Pardon national de la Batellerie in June. Confluence walk at the meeting of the Seine and Oise 400 m from the halt.

History

Conflans has been a barge crews hub since the nineteenth century and remains the administrative seat of the French inland shipping community. The chapelle du Prieuré Saint-Maclou dates from the twelfth century.
