Approach and anchoring

Approach from seaward into San Luis Obispo Bay. The visitor moorings are the outermost white buoys on the west side, behind the break wall. Water depth runs roughly 6 to 12 metres across the field. The Harbor Patrol stands by on VHF channel 12.

Practical

Daily mooring rental is 22 dollars with a 14-day limit, first come first served. From April to October, vessels may also anchor free for seven days between the Avila and Cal Poly piers. Harbour office on 805 595 5400.

Ashore

Avila Pier and the village of Avila Beach lie a short tender run from the moorings, with shops and eating places along the seafront. The town beach fronts the bay.
