Approach and anchoring
Reached from the James River by way of the Pagan River. The deep-water marina opened in 1988 and gives direct access to the James River and Chesapeake Bay.
Practical
68-berth deep-water marina with berths from 20 to 50 feet. Club facilities include a restaurant and lounge, swimming, tennis, volleyball and a sailing programme run by a full-time activities director.
Ashore
Brown's Marina lies 0.8 nm E. The historic district of Smithfield is upriver on the Pagan River, with more than 70 contributing buildings from the colonial, Federal and Victorian periods.
