Approach and anchoring
Approach via DeTour Passage between DeTour Village and Drummond Island, the main route between Lake Huron and the St Marys River. Floating and fixed pontoons take vessels up to 200 ft. Customs office on site for boats arriving from Canada.
Practical
Two fuel berths with diesel and petrol. Shore power 30 A and 50 A, fresh water, pump-out. Heated indoor storage and a 75-ton travel lift for haul-out. Laundry, private showers, WiFi. Onsite chandlery, cottages and a campground.
Ashore
Drummond Island village shops and restaurants within 1 mile. Drummond Island Resort and golf course about 3 miles north. Maxton Plains alvar grassland nature preserve roughly 10 miles north.
History
The marina has operated since 1945. Drummond Island itself was the last British outpost on US soil after the War of 1812, handed over to the United States on 14 November 1828.
