Capt. Anderson's Marina
- Type
- Harbour
Full-service marina on Grand Lagoon at Panama City Beach, Florida, working since 1957 as a base for deep-sea fishing, dolphin cruises and Shell Island trips.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Easy approach from St. Andrew Bay through Grand Lagoon, with quick access to the Gulf via St. Andrews Pass. Deep-water slips and wide fairways take a broad range of craft.
Practical
Transient dockage for visiting boats, plus fuel docks, bait, tackle and crew support. Three large head boats run affordable group fishing, around 40 private charter boats cover trolling and bottom fishing, and four dive boats run trips from scuba intro to deep dives.
Ashore
Shell Island and its 7 miles of beach lie across the pass. Capt. Anderson's Restaurant, at the corner of Thomas Drive and North Lagoon Drive, sits beside the marina.
History
The Anderson family has run fishing trips out of Panama City Beach since 1935. The marina at its present site has operated since 1957 and is a long-standing local landmark.
