Approach and anchoring
Approach from the main river channel. The Delaware is tidal here, with currents running both ways on the flood and ebb, so time arrivals near slack water. The club lies on the Pennsylvania bank close to Edgely Boat Club.
Practical
Member-run club founded in 1948. Pontoon berths for power and sailing boats. Sailing and boating courses run for all levels with club instructors. Facilities are reserved for members and their guests.
History
Bristol Borough, just downstream, was settled in 1681 and was the southern terminus of the Delaware Canal completed in 1832, which carried anthracite coal 60 miles down from Easton.
