Approach and anchoring

Enter the Portage River from the western basin of Lake Erie and run up to Port Clinton. Brands' has dockage at two riverside sites: the main marina and the renovated Westdock further along.

Practical

In-water berths take boats from 25 to 80 ft, with bulkhead space for yachts up to 150 ft and covered 50 ft slips. There are two fuel berths selling petrol and diesel, a pump-out, and a service department with a marine railway. Downtown Port Clinton shops, restaurants and island ferries are a short walk away.

Ashore

Port Clinton calls itself the Walleye Capital of the World and the marinas sit at the heart of the downtown waterfront. Ferries to the Lake Erie islands leave from the same waterfront, and fishing charters work the productive walleye and perch grounds of the western basin offshore.
