State-park marina on the west side of Grand Island, on a tributary of the Upper Niagara River.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Tucked into a sheltered valley off the west channel of the Upper Niagara River. The only public boat launch on the western side of Grand Island. Strong river current outside the creek mouth, take care entering and leaving. Open May to November.
Practical
134 seasonal berths allocated by annual lottery. Launch ramp, petrol and oil sales, ice, pump-out. Reopened in 2022 after a 2.4 million dollar refit by NY State Parks. No transient berths reliably available.
Ashore
21-acre state park around the marina, fishing access on the Niagara. Beaver Island State Park 4 km south with beach, golf and nature trails. West River Parkway shoreline path for cycling along the river.
History
Operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The 2.4 million dollar renovation completed in 2022 rebuilt the pontoons and shore facilities.
