Approach and anchoring
Baïse navigation between the Garonne confluence near Buzet-sur-Baïse and Valence-sur-Baïse upstream. Écluse de Nérac on the town reach, passage during posted lock hours. Small waterway, draught limited to about 1 m, air draught about 3 m at the bridges.
Practical
Rental base used by Le Boat and local operators, 1 berth listed for visitors. Water and shore power at the quay. Full shops, bakery and supermarket in the town centre within 200 m.
Ashore
Château de Nérac, 14th and 16th century former seat of the House of Albret and court of Henri de Navarre, 150 m from the quay. La Garenne royal park along the Baïse, planted under Henri IV, walking paths and the monument to the shepherdess Fleurette. Armagnac distilleries open to visitors on the road to Condom.
History
Nérac was a court of the House of Albret in the 16th century, home to Henri de Navarre, the future Henri IV of France, and his wife Marguerite de Valois. The court attracted Protestant scholars during the Reformation, making Nérac a centre of Huguenot culture.
