Approach and anchoring

Enter from the right bank of the Saône near PK 108. This is the waiting quay at the entrance to the canal, about 50 m of quay fitted with rings and heavy steel bollards, used mainly to wait for the lock and open to overnight stays outside lock operating hours. Ships passing on the Saône send in some wash, tolerable alongside. Maximum draught 1,7 m. Onward passage up the canal is limited by fixed bridges. Approach in daylight given the lack of lit buoyage.

Practical

Mooring alongside the quay. Water and electricity at the halt. Camping Aux Rives du Soleil lies 75 m away with full facilities. Fuel and full services available at the main Pont-de-Vaux basin 1,6 NM to the south-east. Shops in the village of Pont-de-Vaux.

Ashore

Musée Chintreuil in Pont-de-Vaux at 3 km, dedicated to the 19th century landscape painter born in the town. Marché on Wednesday morning on the place Michel Poisat. Greenway along the former railway line towards Saint-Trivier-de-Courtes.
