Approach and anchoring

On the summit pound of the Canal du Centre. Freycinet gauge, air draught 3.50 m, lock chambers 38.5 m by 5.05 m. Remote-controlled locks using a télécommande issued by VNF. No tide, steady current.

Practical

The halt doubles as a commercial hire-boat base. Capitainerie with water and electricity on the quay, showers and toilets, though the office and facilities are closed on Sundays; charges are on the high side for the area. Fuel station on site for boats. Railway station on the Nevers to Chagny line a few minutes walk away.

Ashore

Voie verte from Chagny to Nevers runs along the canal, well suited for cycling. Marchés in the village square on Saturday morning. Côte chalonnaise vineyards within a few kilometres, with Rully and Mercurey AOC domaines to the east.
