Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west between the Île Agot and the mainland. Strong tidal streams run across the entrance and many drying rocks lie around the bay, so a recent SHOM chart is essential. Open to winds from NE through SE. The port asks boats to take a mooring rather than anchor, and the little room left to anchor lies at the drying edge, where a keelboat can touch bottom at low water on springs. VHF 9.
Practical
Mooring buoys and a drying harbour run by the local commune. Visitor buoys are few and often all taken, with none in the deeper water south of Île des Perrons, and the red visitor buoys are limited to a three-day stay. Deep-water moorings lie off Le Perron in season. Water tap on the quay. No fuel on site. Village shops, bakery and restaurants within 400 m of the port.
Ashore
Sentier des Douaniers GR 34 runs past the anchorage in both directions, with the Pointe de la Garde Guérin to the west giving a panoramic view of the coast. Golf de Dinard-Saint-Briac, one of the oldest links courses on the continent, lies 1 km inland.
History
The Dinard-Saint-Briac golf course was laid out in 1887 by British residents and is the second-oldest golf club still operating in continental Europe. The village kept a small fishing and pilotage fleet through the 19th century.
