Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach between the rocky outcrops that dot this stretch of coast, with good holding on sand about 0.9 M southwest of La Corne lighthouse. It is a tight berth between the buoyed river channel and the oyster beds, whose posts barely show at high water neaps; keep clear of the beds to the NW and watch for sand dredgers using the channel around high tide. Shelter from NW through S by SE sectors; the anchorage stays open to the N and NE, so clear out if wind backs that way. It can feel exposed at high water and grows more sheltered as the tide falls and the surrounding rocks uncover. Many crews use it to wait for the tide before entering or leaving the Tréguier river. Grande Passe into the river is the nearest refuge in poor weather.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no services ashore. Tréguier marina lies 3.8 nm S up the river and Port-Blanc 4.4 nm W for provisioning, fuel and proper berthing.
