Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach through the rocky channels between the islets of the Sept-Îles and Port-Blanc group. Crossing the sill on the rising tide opens an inner pool sheltered from all directions, though swinging room is tight and the tidal range is large. A new unmarked oyster park now lies in the lagoon of Île Er. Good holding on sand. In the outer part, shelter from NE, E and SE winds; fully open to the north and north-west swell. Local knowledge or detailed SHOM chart required.
Practical
No services on site. Port-Blanc at 4.7 NM to the SW offers a drying harbour and visitor buoys. Second Port-Blanc mooring area 5 NM SW.
Ashore
Sentier des douaniers GR 34 runs along the coast with access to the chapel Notre-Dame-de-Port-Blanc from the 16th century. Penvénan village 2 km inland for bakery and small shops.
