Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sheltered from every sector except the south-west, on sand and weed. Anchoring, fishing and collecting are prohibited in the Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument, apart from anchoring in the hurricane window allowed by federal rules and permitted bait fishing.
Practical
The NPS moorings in Hurricane Hole are for day use and may not be used to ride out a storm. Storm berths on the chain system are allocated each year by NPS permit. Lines may not be tied to the mangroves, whose roots shelter a rare coral community.
