Seine river port at Limay, opposite Mantes-la-Jolie, in the Yvelines department west of Paris.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Accessed via the Seine between the locks of Méricourt downstream and Andrésy further downstream. Commercial barge traffic on the river, keep to starboard and monitor VHF. The old bridge of Limay stands as a landmark.
Practical
Berths for river cruisers on the Limay bank, around 20 euros a night. Most places are taken by permanent local boats, so visitor space is scarce and often down to one berth, with no harbour office on site. The pontoons are makeshift. Shops in Limay centre and across the river in Mantes-la-Jolie. SNCF station at Mantes-la-Jolie for Paris connections.
Ashore
Collégiale Notre-Dame de Mantes across the river, a Gothic church from the 12th century often compared in style to Notre-Dame de Paris. The old bridge of Limay, partially from the 11th century, is one of the oldest surviving bridges on the Seine.
