Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south-west, clear of rocky heads either side of the entrance. Sheltered from NW through W to SW, exposed to swell from S and SE. Anchor in 3 to 5 m on hard sand, holding generally good; the buoys are privately laid for small craft and will not hold a keelboat. The cove is often rolly as westerly swell bends round the point even when the wind is offshore. A light dinghy lands on the beach, but a heavy tender is easier at nearby Port Maria.
Practical
No facilities at the cove. Locmaria village is about 1 km up the road from Port Maria, with a year-round bar-tabac-grocery and a crêperie. Nearest harbours are Le Palais 4.7 nm NW and Sauzon 7.7 nm NW. Fair-weather anchorage.
Ashore
The cove opens onto a sand beach backed by low cliffs. The coastal path GR 340 crosses behind the beach. Bangor village is about 2.5 km inland by a minor road, with basic shops.
