Small marina on the north shore of the Étang de Berre at Marignane, Bouches-du-Rhône.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Access via the Étang de Berre, reached from the sea through the Canal de Caronte at Martigues. Shallow inland lagoon, and the berths are shallow, so allow for as little as 1.8 metres. Moor stern-to on a hawser with lines ashore. Watch for the mistral, which builds a short steep chop over the étang.
Practical
Pontoon berths for local boats, mainly small craft, with unmetered water and electricity and a cheap overnight rate. Buses from the port reach Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Salon-de-Provence, Marignane airport and the Aix TGV station. Port de Marignane lies 2.3 nm SE and Port du Sagnas 3.4 nm NW for alternative shelter.
