Approach and anchoring

Approach from S clear of the rocky plateau of Men Du and the Roches de Trévignon marked by beacons. The anchorage is cluttered with fishing floats and nets, and the sandy bottom shoals fast, so drop close to the edge of the rocks to find enough water. Shelter from NE through E to SE behind the point, best in northerly winds, but fully exposed to W and SW swell from the Iroise; if the wind backs south the boat ends up stern-on to the rocky shore and it should be left.

Practical

Forain anchorage with a water tap at the slipway ashore. Port de Trévignon 0.1 nm SE, a small tidal fishing harbour, offers walk-ashore access and a few restaurants for the evening. Rosbras upriver on the Aven at 4.7 nm E is the next proper shelter.

Ashore

Pointe de Trévignon with its semaphore and former 1840s coastguard station, walks around the coastal ponds classified as a départemental sensitive natural area. GR34 continues E towards the Îles Glénan crossings from Port-la-Forêt. Trégunc village at about 4 km with full shops, and the Pardon de Saint-Philibert in August.
