Guide

Approach and anchoring

Pensacola Bay is reached from the Gulf through the entrance channel by Fort Pickens, then up the bay clear of the Intracoastal Waterway. Holding is fair in mud. The spot is open to the north, so a fresh northerly raises a short chop. Sabine Marina lies 2.3 nm to the east; Bayou Grande Marina at NAS Pensacola is 4.8 nm to the north-west.

Ashore

Downtown Pensacola has free public moorage at the Pensacola Bay Pier in Community Maritime Park, with shops and restaurants of the historic district within walking distance.
