Approach and anchoring
Shallow lake with sand banks. Approach the Maubuisson village frontage from the centre of the lake and either anchor off the beach or lie at the small pontoon, mooring to starboard on the way in. Depth at the pontoon end is about 2 m. Open to easterly winds, sheltered from the prevailing westerlies by the dune ridge.
Practical
No water or electricity on the pontoon and no marina services on site. The Lacanau base is 6 NM to the south and Hourtin Port 6,9 NM to the north for slipways and fuel.
Ashore
Sandy swimming beach directly in front of the anchorage. Shops, bakery and restaurants around Place de Maubuisson within 200 m. Cycle path to Carcans-Plage on the Atlantic side, 6 km west.
