Cercle Nautique et Touristique du Lacydon, 750 berths on the south side of Marseille Vieux-Port, next to the Pharo.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Vieux-Port through the north pass below Fort Saint-Jean via the marked channel. Maximum draught 5 m in the basin. Heavy traffic from Frioul If ferries and fire service launches, which have right of way. Harbour on VHF 77.
Practical
750 berths managed by the club, whose staff come out to help visitors berth. Fuel berth on the Vieux-Port open to visitors. Water and electricity on the pontoons; the showers and toilets are modern but a fair walk from the visitor berths. Berths can be hard to find as the pontoons are not named on the seaward side, so use the port's berth plan. Vieux-Port metro station 300 m away, shops and rue Saint-Ferréol shopping street 500 m.
Ashore
MuCEM and Fort Saint-Jean 600 m on foot along quai du Port. Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde basilica 1.3 km up from the Pharo. Le Panier quarter and Major cathedral 1 km north. Fish market on quai des Belges every morning.
History
CNTL was founded in 1944. The Vieux-Port itself, the Greek Lacydon, has been used since the Phocaeans founded Massalia around 600 BC, making it one of the oldest working harbours in the Mediterranean.
