Guide
Approach and anchoring
Mixed sand and rock bottom, drop anchor on sand patches to protect the holding. The buoys are allocated to annual holders, so none are free for visitors, and rocks lie in every direction except towards the large beach at Pouldu, so it serves only as an emergency anchorage. Shelter from SW, S and SE, fully exposed to the dominant N and NW winds and swell. Strong tidal streams of up to 4 knots in the Île de Batz channel on springs. VHF 9 for Roscoff-Bloscon.
Practical
Marina of Roscoff-Bloscon 2.4 NM east with diesel, water, 625 berths and a travel lift. Mouillage de Moll 1.8 NM NE.
Ashore
Town of Roscoff 2.5 NM west with ferries to Plymouth and Cork operated by Brittany Ferries since 1973. Jardin Exotique de Roscoff with over 3500 subtropical plant species. Île de Batz 1 NM north reached by passenger ferry from Roscoff old harbour.
