Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south across the Roscoff-Bloscon channel, where the tidal stream runs up to 4 knots. Holding is good on sand, and a shallow-draught boat can take the ground. By day, from about 8am to 8pm, passenger ferries, fishing boats and a supply barge pass close through the anchorage and kick up a chop, so it is far more restful after 8pm. Shelter from N, NE, E and NW, exposed to the westerly swell that wraps round the island.
Practical
No facilities on site. Land the dinghy on the beach or in the corner behind the long ferry jetty, which covers all the way to the shore at high water, so keep clear of it. Nearest marina is Roscoff-Bloscon 2 NM to the SE with water, fuel and 625 berths.
