Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Saône navigation channel. Mud bottom, good holding. A passage pontoon lies alongside the bank but carries less than 1.5 metres, so sound in, and boats drawing more keep to the channel. Shelter from NW, N, NE, W and E thanks to the river banks. Watch for commercial barge traffic on the Saône and for current after heavy rain upstream.
Practical
The passage pontoon has shops about 500 metres away, but no other services on site. Trévoux halte fluviale lies 1.8 NM E with water. Former Port Bernalin lock site 4.1 NM SE downstream.
Ashore
Trévoux, former capital of the principality of Dombes, hosts a medieval castle overlooking the Saône and the Parlement des Dombes building from the 18th century. Market on Saturday morning in the old town.
